Who we are
Our website address is: http://citylogger.org. We are charitable organisation looking to improve awareness of litter in cities. We do this by using technology to allow people to collect and share that awareness to litter problems in their city.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect positional data of your phone when you log litter (an item) or pick it up. This collects your latitude and longitude co-ordinates provided by your phone. You can also log things like litter warning to let other know of bigger problems, like flytipping etc.
The app has requies you to login, and thus provide an email address for validation. This email address is the only personal data we will ask of you. It will allow us to validate you are a real user. We recomend that you use a unique password to ensure safty and once you are logged on the phone.
We ask for a Nick Name (which will be seen by team leads to recognise you) which will be “public” by the team admins of the teams you request access to.
We will not share email addresses with any third party [unless required under law], we will however share the litter data. This data has a unique number associated to you, which we will keep seperate, also it has a readable team name, meaning that the litter data can be shared directly with the team organisation.
We need to keep your unique number assocated to your points, as that is how your score is calculated, we need to know which points you logged and picked.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website or app, we ask that you ensure they are appropriate and avoide un-litter related images. Right now is unlikely you can/will be able to upload images, but if we do, we ask that you take responsiblity for them.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
Website data is not shared with any other organisation, but only located on our hosting providers and database, which the providors have access to support us.
We think at some point the app litter data will be shared with the team representative or owner. Or relative organisation that it associates to.
We indend on create obfuscated outputs for bigger councils and organisations to understand the accumalative nature of the problem of litter in areas of interest. It is imporant that this will be aggregated data, and not linked to unique identifiers.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
